2026 Testing Programme

About Us

Soterra Labs is a spin-out company from Lancaster University with a mission to support growers involved in protected-crop production. We understand the many pressures growers face — in particular, the need to control pests and diseases while meeting legal Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) and complying with more stringent retailer MRLs.

Our solution, Prism, is a simple, easy-to-use app designed to integrate seamlessly with existing horticultural practices. Its core purpose is to help growers reduce their risk of exceeding MRLs.

Prism supports growers by improving:

• Crop pest and disease identification
• Guidance on appropriate pesticide selection
• Interactive daily MRL-risk monitoring
• Safe period to harvest status

The 2026 Testing Programme

In 2026, Soterra Labs will begin an initial round of testing with selected growers. We are looking for growers that meet a few criteria and are willing to collaborate on one or two of the optional tasks outlined below.

What We Require from Participants

Optional Task 1: App-Only Trial

• On-site visit(s) from our team
• Download and use the Prism app alongside existing crop-growing activities
• Provide feedback (via short survey or informal conversation)

Optional Task 2: Sampling Trial

• On-site visit(s) from our team
• Collection of crop samples for testing (integrated with normal crop-growing activities)
• Provide feedback (via informal conversation)
